Who Qualifies for a Grant?

In order to qualify for a grant for first-time central heating, your property must not have a central heating system. If your home is heated by a mains gas boiler, an oil boiler or a warm air system then it does not qualify. Homes that do qualify are those heated by electric storage heaters, electric room heaters, gas room heaters/fires, electric fires, coal fires and homes that are heated by individual room heaters not boilers with radiators. You do not need to be in receipt of benefits to qualify for a grant we have access to Local Authority Flexible Eligibility in Devon (LA Flex) this means that more people qualify for a grant.

Do I Need a Survey?

Yes we will need to carry out a survey at your home – this is free of charge and our highly qualified surveyors will discuss all of your requirements and options with you.

Who Qualifies for a Grant?

You do not need to be in receipt of benefits to get free loft and cavity wall insulation. Local Authority Flexible Eligibility (LA Flex) is part of the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme that helps householders save on their energy bills and carbon footprint.

I rent my Home - Do I Qualify?

Yes as long as we can get your landlord's permission – we can help with this, in general landlords are more than happy to have the work done as it improves their property at no cost to them.

Where does the money come from?

All energy companies with a certain number of customers are obliged by the government to make homes more energy efficient by offering grants. It does not matter which energy company you are with we obtain the grant for you so there is nothing for you to do. Different Energy Companies have different requirements so we find the best one to meet your needs.

Does the grant have to be paid back?

No there is no payback of the grant at any time. The grant is paid to the installers when the work is complete and you are happy with everything.

How long does it take?

Initially, we will contact you to talk through your requirements and arrange for a surveyor to visit you. This is usually within a week. At the time of the survey, your surveyor will discuss with you the timescale for your new central heating and on most occasions will give you an installation date. If you are having a new gas connection we will have to wait for this to be completed before we can start work. We will arrange the gas connection for you.
